Position Title: 3D Electrical Designer

Location: Remote (U.S.-based)

Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire

Position Overview:

We are actively seeking experienced Electrical Designers to support a growing portfolio of infrastructure and energy projects across the U.S. This role offers the opportunity to lead full-scope electrical design efforts from concept through construction in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates will bring a deep understanding of power generation and power delivery systems along with strong technical and project coordination skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design electrical systems including duct banks, conduit, cable trays, grounding, and lighting.
  • Apply NEC and local codes to develop safe, compliant electrical designs.
  • Create and manage 3D models and detailed design drawings.
  • Route electrical cables and develop accurate cable schedules.
  • Perform calculations such as conduit fill and pull box sizing.
  • Coordinate with multi-discipline project teams to ensure integrated, constructible solutions.
  • Resolve field and design-related issues throughout project execution.
  • Provide technical support during construction phases.

Required Qualifications:

  • Ideally 7+ years in electrical design within the power generation or power delivery sectors.
  • Demonstrated experience managing design deliverables across the full project lifecycle.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in 3D design platforms such as Smart Plant 3D (SP3D) / PDS, Aveva (E3D) / PDMS, MicroStation, AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks.
  • Strong understanding of NEC and local electrical codes.
  • Ability to perform detailed electrical calculations and create construction-ready documents.
  • Industry Background:
  • Power, energy, utilities, or infrastructure sectors; experience with EPC projects preferred.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, particularly in remote work settings.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and coordination skills.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Experience supporting power generation projects specifically.
  • Previous field or construction support experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership in guiding teams and managing project scope.
  • Willingness to relocate or travel for onboarding if required.
