Volunteer Role: Programme Lead - “Hey Dan” Initiative (Raising the Glass)

Raising the Glass is seeking a volunteer leader to scope, shape and deliver our newest initiative, Hey Dan.

Hey Dan has been created in response to the heart breaking reality that suicide is the leading cause of death for men under 50 in the UK, and in memory of Dan, who we lost recently.

Hey Dan will exist to create space, connection and conversation.

It’s a simple call to action to say hey Dad, hey brother, hey friend , hey you, how are you, really?

Because we wish we’d had just one more chance to say… Hey Dan.

We are now looking for a volunteer Programme Lead who can take this seed of an idea and build it into a movement.

What you’ll do

• Work with ROM and the Raising the Glass network to scope the initiative

• Define the programme pillars, audience and impact framework

• Build partnerships (charities, mental health organisations, men’s networks, workplaces)

• Lead fund-raising activation, from small community donations to sponsor partnerships

• Shape the narrative, resources and brand language

• Deliver a clear “phase one launch roadmap” and take it into activation

What you’ll bring

• Experience (formal or lived) in mental health, men’s mental health, suicide prevention, community building / cause marketing / inclusion programmes or fundraising

• Strategic thinking: programme design, structure and clarity

• Heart: this matters to you

• Confidence to shape a blank page and turn it into something real

• Ability to work independently, collaboratively and sensitively

What this is

• A voluntary role (unpaid)

• Flexible time commitment (approx 2 days a month, but you define how you work)

• Part of a national, growing, purpose-led network championing women and allies in the drinks industry
