Job Description

Business Development Executive, Architecture & Design (APAC) | Melbourne
Remote, based in Melbourne | Full time | Full sales cycle, new business | APAC territoryA$65,000 to A$75,000 base + 12% super, depending on experience. Year one on-target earnings A$120,000 to A$150,000+, uncapped.APAC is our next market. You would be the person who opens it, from Melbourne.
Rendify is a subscription 3D visualisation partner, headquartered in Quebec City, Canada. We are a team of 85+ of the top 1% of global 3D artists, working with hundreds of clients across Canada, the United States and Europe: architecture and interior design practices, property developers, furniture brands and leading ecommerce companies. Asia Pacific is where we go next.
Melbourne matters to us because of the density of the design community here. More interior design studios, commercial furniture businesses, joinery and FF&E suppliers and visualisation practices per square kilometre than anywhere else in the country. If you have spent time in that world, in a showroom, a studio or on the supply side, you already know the people we want to be in front of.
This is a permanent, funded role and the first commercial hire on the ground in the region. Australia is where most of the near-term opportunity sits, and your territory is the whole of APAC: New Zealand, Japan, Singapore, and everywhere else in the region our inbound comes from. You own the pipeline, the pitch, the relationships, and the accounts you close.
What you would be selling
Renders decide things in this industry. A verified view decides whether a project gets through council. A hero image decides whether an off-the-plan buyer signs and whether the finance clears. A catalogue of product visuals decides whether a furniture brand launches on time.
Practices, developers and brands know this. What they struggle with is production capacity. The work is lumpy, in-house 3D talent is hard to hire and harder to keep, and freelance marketplaces make consistency difficult to hold from one job to the next.
Rendify solves that with a subscription partner model and a production pipeline that sits at the front of this industry. AI accelerates our modelling, materials, lighting and iteration. Experienced 3D specialists art direct every scene and review every frame before it reaches a client. That is the whole argument, and it is a strong one: AI-enhanced production, human reviewed. You get AI speed with human results, and you will be selling that distinction to buyers who care a great deal about what actually lands in their inbox.
The role, plainly
Full sales cycle. You find it, you qualify it, you demo it, you propose it, you negotiate it, you close it, and then you keep the account and grow it.
- Work the inbound. Around 80% of your pipeline comes from warm leads Rendify generates and hands to you. You start with live pipeline in your first week and spend your time selling.
- Build the rest yourself. The other 20% is on you. Outbound prospecting, cold calls, LinkedIn, events, showrooms. It is a smaller share than most sales roles, and it is a genuine part of the job, so we would rather be clear about it now than in your second week.
- Run your own discovery and demos. You are the closer, start to finish.
- Build proposals, manage follow-ups, negotiate commercial terms, and sign the deal.
- Onboard the client and get their first brief moving properly.
- Own the relationship afterwards and find the expansion.
One thing worth being clear about: new business comes first. Keeping and growing what you win is how you compound it, and it is why the commission is paid on recurring revenue as well as new deals.
Who does this well
We hire for industry understanding first and teach our sales process second. Someone who knows this world and has good commercial instincts will go further here than someone with a polished process who has never set foot in a studio.
Strongest fit. You have worked in, or sold into, architecture, interior design, construction, property development, furniture, real estate, or architectural visualisation. You know the difference between a verified view for a DA and a hero render for a display suite. You know why presales matter to a developer's financier. You know that a practice is run by directors and principals, and that the person who commissions the imagery is often a different person from the one who designs the building.
That might look like any of these:
- Specification or A&D sales for a building products, joinery, lighting, tile, glazing or surfaces brand
- Media, platform or membership sales into architects and specifiers
- Residential project marketing, or an agency that commissions renders for a living
- Commercial furniture, FF&E or showroom trade sales
- Business development, marketing, studio management or project coordination inside a practice or a visualisation studio
- A 3D artist or visualiser who wants the commercial side of this work
Also strong. You have carried a number in a full sales cycle B2B role and hit it, and you are genuinely interested in design and the built environment. We will teach you the industry if you bring the commercial engine. We will teach you the sales process if you bring the industry.
What we actually need
- Based in Melbourne with full working rights in Australia
- Existing relationships in the Melbourne design, furniture or development community are a real advantage
- You can hold a discovery conversation with a practice director without a script
- You are comfortable picking up the phone, and honest with yourself about whether you enjoy it
- Organised enough to carry inbound, demos, proposals and live accounts in the same week
- Comfortable with autonomy. Our core team is in Canada, so you get a few hours of overlap most days and a lot of trust in between
- A second APAC language is a welcome bonus
What you have behind you
You are the first person in the region, with a full team supporting you.
- A Sales Director who trains you directly: live shadowing, a library of recorded sales, onboarding and client calls, and weekly call review coaching
- SDR support already feeding your inbound
- Existing Account Executives who have sold this successfully, to compare notes with
- Customer Success and Operations who take over delivery once you have sold it
- A product that already works, with our 85+ artists and hundreds of clients behind it
What this becomes
We are building a team here, and you are the first hire in it. As the region grows, dedicated SDRs and a Customer Success Manager come in alongside you to carry the top of the funnel and the post-sale relationship, so your time moves further up the value of each deal. We will say this plainly: the person who opens this region is the person we would want running it.
Compensation and conditions
- Base A$65,000 to A$75,000 + 12% superannuation, depending on experience
- Uncapped commission on new business and on recurring revenue from the accounts you keep
- Year one on-target earnings approximately A$120,000 to A$150,000+, and real upside beyond it
- Fully remote, based in Melbourne
- Home office setup and the tools to do the job properly
