Web Designer
Job Description
Posted on: November 5, 2025
The Role: We are looking for a focused, driven and self-reliant web / UI/UX designer who will help us reach new design heights. You will design stand-out websites and visual identities that turn heads and win hearts — for international clients, as design lead, independently shaping projects from start to finish. You’ll work closely with project managers, developers and clients, to communicate and iterate on design concepts. The job is fully remote, hours are flexible.
About Us:
The Weather provides no-nonsense web design and development for forward-thinking brands and organizations that want fresh digital solutions. We have created over 200 websites for green energy clients, democracy-focused NGOs, and progressive brands — worldwide.
Our clients include Kiwi.com, Re/max, Mews, STEM, Merck and the United Nations. The Weather is a fully remote company with roots in Berlin and Prague.
Responsibilities:
- Web Design: Design cutting edge websites, always with an eye for function and (business) objectives.
- Visual Identity: Develop compelling identities including logos, color palettes, typography, and visual guidelines.
- User Experience: Thoughtful design and interaction rooted in UX and branding principles. Crafting experiences that drive action and get results.
- Communication: We like to communicate our way through everything. Pitching, presenting and communicating design concepts to clients and coworkers is an essential part of the job.
- You are prepared to work with external designers and interns and help them learn and grow.
- You will work on client projects and help us develop and communicate our own brand and visual assets, social media and project showcases.
- You take full ownership of digital experience projects from pitch to go-live.
Requirements:
- Experience in web design, with a proven track record of creating outstanding design that achieves real-world results. The ideal candidate will look at our showcase and feel they can do better.
- You can transcend the limits of visual guidelines and brand identities while working within the brief.
- Excellent Design skills, design thinking and knowledge of insight-led user-centered design principles.
- Figma is second nature.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, In Design, Lightroom).
- Effective communicator, skilled in storytelling deeply committed to the art of conveying narratives. You can articulate design concepts to non-designers. Excellent written and spoken English.
- We are a collective of independent minds with varied backgrounds and multidisciplinary experiences. We need you to be the same. We are fully remote so it’s essential that you are self-reliant, proactive, independent, able to work alone and in teams.
- A no-nonsense commitment to getting things done. Time management is non-negotiable.
Nice to Have:
- German, Czech and other languages
- Experience with no-code page builders (Elementor, Webflow, Framer and similar)
- Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript
- Experience with video, animation and 3D
- Experience with idea making, (copy) writing and illustration
- We value multidisciplinary expertise — if you moonlight as a mime or have a background in high finance, let us know.
What we Offer:
- Part-time or 4 days
- Starting compensation: 1.600 EUR–3.000 EUR (depending on weekly hours and experience)
- Fully remote and flexible schedule (with a preference for candidates based in Prague or Berlin for occasional in-person meetings)
- A supportive environment and friendly, unconventional company culture to develop your skills and grow your portfolio.
- A sense of authorship / ownership. Our typical project has one designer from start to finish. So your projects will be yours.
- We value freedom (i.e., to work from anywhere, to work with companies and people who are close to us, to be true to ourselves), but we know that freedom results from professionalism and autonomy.
- Meetups, company trips, teambuilding. We still like to meet in person.
How to Apply: How to Apply: Send us your CV and examples of your work or a portfolio link. A strong portfolio is essential, links to Figma designs and prototypes are welcome. No need for a long cover letter—just tell us why you want to work with us and what you're hopeing to find.
