The Worst Taste is looking for a junior graphic designer who can produce consistent, high-volume artwork across niche music genres including slowcore, ambient, easy-listening, EDM, indie, and singer-songwriter.

What We Do

The Worst Taste operates inside niche music scenes that don’t chase trends, we refine them.

We release music across slowcore, ambient, electronic and indie subcultures, building distinct visual identities that support the sound without overpowering it.

This is not corporate agency work.

This is not branding for coffee shops.

This is not design-by-committee.

You’ll work directly under art direction in a lean, fast-moving music environment where output matters and experimentation is encouraged.

Over time, you’ll develop:

• High-volume, high-quality artwork production ability
• AI-assisted creative workflows most designers haven’t mastered
• Speed of iteration under direct feedback
• Deep genre-specific aesthetic judgment

The Role

You will be responsible for producing consistent visual output across multiple music releases and social campaigns. This is a full-time remote position (any country).

You will work under art direction and will be expected to ramp into full production within 30 days.

First 12-Month Accountabilities

After a 30-day ramp-up period, you will consistently deliver:

• 5 repeatable template-based artwork designs per week
• 1 high-quality original artwork piece per week
• 1 high-quality artwork with accompanying social video assets per week
• 5 repeatable social video assets per week
• AI-based template systems for Slowcore and Easy Listening genres

• Consistency in output without decline in taste

You don’t need to be a motion graphics expert, but basic video editing or motion experience is heavily favored.

Experience

• Some prior experience designing album artwork, digital cover art, or social media visual assets (freelance or employed).
• A portfolio that demonstrates strong aesthetic awareness and the ability to adapt across different moods or genres.
• Confidence working within a defined theme or creative direction.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted design tools (Midjourney, Photoshop AI tools, Runway, etc.) is strongly preferred.
