3D Designer – Junior Contract (Remote)

This project offers an exciting opportunity for a creative 3D Designer to bring a unique marble racing concept to life. The focus is on designing a printable sphere that securely houses a ball bearing, with a two-piece shell construction. Each shell must feature its own distinct style, and the shells should be fully interchangeable. The client has a clear vision and ideas for the project but requires a skilled designer to translate these concepts into a functional and visually appealing 3D model. The role is fully remote, and there is flexibility regarding the delivery timeline, making it ideal for designers seeking a creative challenge with room for innovation. Deliverables

• Design a 3D printable sphere interior capable of securely holding a ball bearing.
• Create two distinct shell designs, ensuring each shell is stylistically unique.
• Ensure shells are interchangeable and fit together seamlessly.
• Provide print-ready 3D files in standard formats (e.g., STL, OBJ).
• Collaborate with the client to refine concepts and incorporate feedback.
• Offer guidance on material selection and printability if needed.

Requirements

• Proficiency in 3D modeling software such as Blender, Fusion 360, SolidWorks, or similar.
• Experience designing for 3D printing, with an understanding of tolerances and assembly.
• Strong creative and problem-solving skills to develop interchangeable shell mechanisms.
• Ability to communicate effectively and interpret client ideas into practical designs.
• Attention to detail in both functional and aesthetic aspects of the design.
• Availability to work remotely and provide updates as the project progresses.
• Prior experience with product design or similar personal projects is a plus, but not required.
