Freelance 3D Designer – Part time

This is an opportunity for an experienced 3D Designer to lead creative direction on major city-building and infrastructure projects across Australia and New Zealand. The role is fully remote and focuses on the early planning stages of large-scale masterplans, waterfront precincts, and transport infrastructure. You will collaborate with government agencies, councils, and developers to visualize future cities, shaping digital twins and robust models for long-term planning and storytelling. The position requires a strong creative vision, the ability to interpret nascent designs, and a passion for cinematic storytelling in architectural visualization. Deliverables

• Lead the creative vision for CGI, animation, and real-time visualizations for urban and infrastructure projects.
• Develop high-end visuals and digital twins from early design references and masterplans.
• Oversee production of cinematic storytelling assets for long-term city and infrastructure planning.
• Collaborate directly with clients to elevate creative outcomes and ensure alignment with project goals.
• Guide the development of robust 3D models for use in digital twin and master model workflows.
• Contribute to creative discussions and provide direction to production teams.

Requirements

• Senior-level experience in 3D visualization for architecture, urban design, or infrastructure projects.
• Advanced proficiency with 3ds Max, V-Ray, Corona, Unreal Engine, and AI-driven workflows.
• Strong creative and artistic sensibility, with a portfolio demonstrating cinematic storytelling and high-end production.
• Ability to interpret early-stage designs and translate them into compelling visual narratives.
• Experience leading creative teams and managing client relationships in a remote setting.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Availability for a 3-month, part-time remote contract.
