Freelance AI Image Specialist – Remote

This role is focused on producing hyper-realistic, documentary-style imagery for a creative fiction project replicating a real criminal investigation file. The successful candidate will generate 34 images, including forensic photographs, scene sketches, CCTV stills, and personal photos, all designed to appear as authentic evidence within an A4 published book. The project requires meticulous attention to detail, with each image needing to convincingly replicate UK forensic and surveillance aesthetics. Candidates will receive detailed prompts and descriptions for each image, and shortlisted applicants will be provided with a comprehensive brief. The ability to research and accurately reproduce specific visual styles is essential, as is a commitment to delivering images indistinguishable from genuine investigative materials. Deliverables

• Create 34 hyper-realistic images across forensic, surveillance, and personal photo categories
• Develop forensic photographs, technical diagrams, CCTV and security camera stills, and pub security footage
• Apply advanced compositing and retouching techniques to ensure authenticity
• Use AI image generation tools to produce photorealistic results based on provided prompts
• Research and replicate UK-specific forensic and surveillance visual styles
• Deliver sample images for review prior to full project commitment

Requirements

• Proven experience in photo retouching and digital compositing, especially for documentary or investigative visuals
• Proficiency in Photoshop for image treatment and compositing
• Experience with After Effects or similar software for surveillance and CCTV aesthetics
• Skilled in AI image generation tools such as Midjourney or Stable Diffusion
• Competence in Illustrator for technical diagrams and forensic sketches
• Strong research skills and attention to detail for accurate style replication
• Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality, authentic imagery under tight deadlines
• Portfolio demonstrating relevant work in photorealistic or forensic-style image creation
