Freelance Graphic Designer – FMCG Packaging

Join an exciting project to design packaging for a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) brand specializing in pet treats. This role involves creating visually compelling and market-ready stand-up pouch designs for a wholesale distributor based in Sydney, Australia. You will be responsible for developing three unique packaging concepts, each covering 4-5 SKUs, ensuring the designs are both attractive and compliant with Australian consumer law. The final deliverables must be suitable for print production and include precise die lines. This is an excellent opportunity for a designer with a keen eye for branding and a strong understanding of the FMCG sector, particularly within the Australian market. Deliverables

• Develop three distinct packaging design concepts for stand-up pouches (approx. 110mm x 160mm)
• Create artwork for 4-5 SKUs per design concept
• Prepare print-ready files, including die lines and all necessary production specifications
• Ensure all designs comply with Australian consumer law and market standards
• Collaborate remotely with the client to refine concepts and incorporate feedback
• Deliver final assets within a 2-4 week timeframe

Requirements

• Proven experience in packaging design, preferably for FMCG products
• Strong portfolio demonstrating creative and effective packaging solutions
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
• Familiarity with print production processes and preparing die lines
• Understanding of Australian market trends and consumer law requirements
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work to deadlines
• Availability for remote collaboration and timely project delivery
