Freelance Storyboard Artist

Join a creative team bringing a retro-inspired animated horror series to life. This role focuses on developing storyboards for 'Mysteries of Millford,' a 2D animated series set in a 1980s American suburb where supernatural mysteries unfold. The project blends neon aesthetics, suspenseful storytelling, and authentic horror elements. The ideal candidate is passionate about visual storytelling and eager to contribute to a collaborative, remote team environment. Responsibilities

• Create detailed storyboards that capture the tone, pacing, and visual style of a horror/mystery series
• Collaborate with writers, directors, and animators to translate scripts into compelling visual sequences
• Incorporate feedback to refine storyboards and enhance narrative clarity
• Ensure consistency with the series’ retro neon aesthetic and small-town atmosphere
• Work with the music and audio team to synchronize visual and audio cues for maximum impact
• Meet project deadlines and maintain open communication with the production team

Skills And Requirements

• Strong portfolio demonstrating experience in storyboarding for animation, preferably in horror or mystery genres
• Proficiency in digital illustration and storyboard software (e.g., Storyboard Pro, Photoshop, or similar)
• Solid understanding of cinematic composition, pacing, and visual storytelling techniques
• Ability to interpret scripts and visualize complex scenes with clarity and creativity
• Excellent communication skills and openness to feedback
• Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team
• Interest in 1980s aesthetics and horror themes is a plus
