About The Role

The Sr. UI/UX Designer will play a pivotal role in creating engaging, user-centered digital experiences for federal clients. This remote position requires a professional with a strong background in designing intuitive interfaces and comprehensive user experiences. The candidate will analyze project requirements, develop wireframes, prototypes, and visual designs, and collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to translate business needs into compelling digital solutions. An essential aspect of this role involves ensuring accessibility standards are met, maintaining style consistency, and continuously improving user interfaces based on user feedback and usability testing. The Sr. UI/UX Designer will also be responsible for developing design strategies, creating style guides, and producing high-quality visual assets that align with project goals and organizational standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to impactful government projects, leveraging innovative design practices to enhance user engagement and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• Minimum of 5 years of professional UI/UX design experience with a strong portfolio showcasing diverse digital projects
• Proficiency in creating user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and mockups
• Experience translating requirements into style guides, design systems, and user interfaces
• Knowledge of web accessibility standards and testing procedures
• Proficiency with Adobe XD and other design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe Creative Suite
• Understanding of responsive web design principles
• Strong collaboration skills working with cross-functional teams including product managers, developers, and stakeholders
• Familiarity with Scrum and Kanban methodologies
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required)
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Analyze database requirements and determine information needs, relationships, attributes, data flow, storage, and reporting capabilities
• Coordinate maintenance and updates to databases, applying knowledge of database management systems
• Test and implement changes or new database designs to ensure optimal performance and security
• Write logical and physical database descriptions, including location, space, access methods, and security requirements
• Provide technical guidance to programmers and analysts during database modifications and enhancements
• Answer database-related questions and offer technical support to team members and stakeholders
• Monitor databases and analyze data to identify trends, insights, and opportunities for process improvements
• Stay informed about emerging technologies and best practices related to database management and UI/UX design
• Develop user-centered designs by understanding business requirements and incorporating user feedback
• Create wireframes, prototypes, visual designs, and flow diagrams to communicate design concepts effectively
• Translate business requirements into style guides, design systems, and attractive user interfaces
• Design UI elements such as input controls, navigation components, and informational displays
• Collaborate with product, development, and management teams to ensure design consistency and usability
• Integrate usability testing, customer feedback, and usage metrics to refine and enhance user experience
• Maintain and update mockups, ensuring features are improved and aligned with project goals
• Develop and enforce adherence to style standards and best practices in UI/UX design
