3D Modeling Specialist | $65/hr Remote

Role Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end parametric CAD projects in SolveSpace from concept to manufacturing export.
• Document and clearly articulate workflow processes, design reasoning, and engineering decisions.
• Create fully constrained parametric sketches using geometric and dimensional constraints.
• Develop advanced 3D features such as extrudes, revolves, helixes, and Boolean operations.
• Organize assemblies, simulate mechanisms/linkages, and iterate designs using engineering best practices.
• Prepare and export CAM-ready files (DXF, STL, STEP, etc.) for manufacturing processes including 3D printing and laser cutting.
• Communicate design logic and workflow methodology effectively in written and verbal formats to support AI development initiatives.

Requirements

• Extensive hands-on experience managing full-cycle parametric CAD projects in SolveSpace.
• Strong understanding of AutoCAD and CAD/CAM workflows, including 3D modeling.
• Proficiency in parametric sketching, constraint management, feature creation, and assembly modeling.
• Experience preparing files for multiple manufacturing technologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex engineering concepts.
• Strong analytical thinking and iterative problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively.
