Creative Economy Innovation Designer Virtual Volunteering to Support Broadway Creative Studios via CrowdDoing
Mission: Pioneer new models for how creative venues can be financially sustainable while maximizing artistic freedom and community benefit.
Core Purpose: You'll research, design, and test innovative approaches to creative space economics, helping solve the fundamental challenge of making transformational art financially viable.
This is an unpaid, virtual volunteer role.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Model Innovation
- Research successful creative venue models globally and adapt learnings for Broadway's unique context
- Design revenue strategies that genuinely subsidize experimental programming rather than constraining it
- Create financial frameworks for the "20-hour creative hub" model that balances sustainability with accessibility
Impact Measurement Systems
- Develop metrics that capture cultural and social value alongside traditional business indicators
- Design feedback systems that track how the venue transforms individual artists and broader community creative capacity
- Create impact reporting frameworks that demonstrate value to diverse stakeholder groups
Sustainable Programming Architecture
- Map how different types of programming can cross-subsidize each other while maintaining artistic integrity
- Design scheduling and resource allocation systems that maximize creative synergies
- Create operational frameworks that support spontaneous collaboration while ensuring financial viability
Why This Role Matters to You
Innovation Leadership: You'll be at the forefront of reimagining how creative spaces operate, with your models potentially influencing venues worldwide.
Analytical Skills: Develop expertise in social impact measurement, financial modeling, and systems design for creative organizations.
Problem-Solving Impact: Address one of the most pressing challenges facing creative communities - how to sustain spaces for artistic risk-taking in expensive urban environments.
Thought Leadership: Your research and frameworks will contribute to broader conversations about creative economy development and cultural infrastructure.
Please be prepared to spend at least an average of 4 hours a week over this initial launch phase in 2025 to help us get this creative epicenter to be successful through our global virtual volunteer support.
This is an unpaid, virtual volunteer role. This role is not financially compensated. Volunteers should be intrinsically motivated by this challenge.
