Social Media Coordinator

Resident Media  |  Contract  |  Remote  |  Content Creation + Distribution

What This Job Is

Resident Media is a luxury lifestyle publication — culture, design, travel, modern living. Our social presence matches our editorial standard: elevated, specific, and consistent.

We are looking for a Social Media Coordinator who curates platform-native content. You will take our published editorial work and event creatives and transform them into content that performs on LinkedIn, Instagram, and X. You will also create original social-first brand marketing content.

AI-assisted content production is a core part of this role (Not AI-Generated Content). We expect fluency with these tools, not just awareness of them.

What You Will DoDistribution

  • Ensure published articles are distributed across active platforms within the posting cadence
  • Maintain platform-specific standards: caption length, hashtags, link placement, visual framing and linking
  • Manage and maintain the social content calendar aligned with the editorial calendar
  • Set up, verify and maintain scheduled distribution for all channels

Content Creation & Repurposing

  • Transform articles into platform-native formats: pull quotes, carousels, captions, story frames
  • Produce short-form video and reels sourced from existing editorial assets and brand library
  • Develop original brand content that serves our brand, clients and audience 
  • Write captions that match Resident Media brand voice: sophisticated, precise, not generic
  • Adapt long-form features into series, weekly spotlights, or recurring social formats

AI-Assisted Production

  • Use AI tools to generate caption variations, repurposing drafts, and post options at scale
  • Leverage automation to transform articles into multiple social formats efficiently
  • Prompt, review, and refine curated content to meet brand standards before publishing
  • Identify where AI increases throughput without reducing quality and recommend those workflows

Analytics & Reporting

  • Track reach, engagement, follower growth, and content performance by format
  • Surface insights to the Managing Editor on a regular cadence
  • Monitor platform algorithm changes that affect the distribution strategy
  • Provide monthly summaries with actionable recommendations

Required Skills & ToolsMust Have

  • 2 to 4+ years in social media content creation, digital distribution, or content marketing
  • Demonstrated ability to create content for LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok and X — links to accounts required
  • Strong writing skills with the ability to adapt tone across platforms
  • Hands-on experience with at least one social scheduling and analytics platform (Later, Buffer, Metricool, Hootsuite)
  • Active, working experience with AI-enabled content tools.
  • Ability to work from established brand guidelines and direction

Preferred

  • Experience in luxury, lifestyle, travel, or cultural media
  • Short-form video and reel editing capability (CapCut, Edits, Descript, Opus Clip)
  • Graphic design fluency in Canva or Adobe Express
  • Knowledge of social SEO and content discoverability
  • Experience with agentic or automated content repurposing tools

  • Links to 2 to 3 social accounts or content samples you have managed or created
  • A specific description of how you use AI in your content process: what you prompt, how you edit the output, and what you would never let AI publish without your review
  • The tools you use for scheduling, creation, and analytics
  • Your weekly availability and time zone
